22 Weeks

My precious baby BOY!!!!  It is so wonderful to get to say that now!

We found out in the last ultrasound that you are a little man.  Over this last weekend, we had our immediate families over for a gender reveal party.  I must admit, it was quite fun!  Everyone was so anxious to find out, they wanted us to tell them as soon as they arrived.  Instead, we made them eat some snacks and dessert first. Your daddy put blue confetti in black ballons prior to the party. So, each person got a balloon and a pin. Then after a countdown, everyone popped the balloons and blue confetti went everywhere! We asked everyone to wear blue or pink/red based on their gender guess...only a few girl guesses. Your family is so excited to meet you, little one. So many people love you and are praying for you. I hope you feel immensely loved already.

In other news, you are now around 11 inches long and about 1 pound (size of a spaghetti squash). Your lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct. You are even developing little tooth buds beneath your guns. Your eyes have formed but they lack pigment still. Your daddy and I are *ahem, probably kind of vainly* hoping you inherit my green eyes, and your daddy's dark skin and hair. You will be perfect regardless.  :)

Had a midwife appointment last night. Everything is still looking great. Weight and blood pressure are right on track. We got to measure my belly this time! Top of pubic bone to top of uterus correlates (+/- 3cm) to the number of weeks pregnant. I measured 20.5cm, which is perfect. All the midwife had to do was hold the dopper to my tummy, turn it on, and there you were! She didn't even have to look for you this time.

 I feel your movements more consistently now and have already noticed a pattern. In the morning once I get to work and settle down and then once I get home from work and am making dinner. A couple of times while I was eating lunch. It is unbelievably incredible to feel you moving around in there...albeit a tad weird, if I'm being completely honest! Also, there have been maybe 3 times now when I was feeling you move around and started giggling like I was being tickled! I am VERY ticklish (as your daddy well knows and takes advantage of) and apparently you have found my ticklish spots! You little silly goose...tickling me already! I've never heard anyone say that baby movements tickle, so maybe I am just more ticklish than most. Either way, it is pretty fun.
