17 weeks

Hi baby!

This week you are the size of a turnip. Your skeleton is now changing from soft cartilage to bone.  The umbilical cord is getting stronger and thicker.  You're about 5 inches long from head to bottom and weigh about 5 ounces.  You can now move your joints too...which you will be doing a lot of!  Both your dad and I hope you will enjoy playing sports, at least just for family time even.  We're both really into sports and can't wait to teach you!  Your dad has recently started saying he wants you to be a hockey star.  Though if you would prefer to play piano, do drama...anything like that, we'll support you baby.

Over the last week I've been feeling pretty normal actual.  Other than my growing abdomen.  I am loving the baby bump, so thanks for that.  :)  I have dreamed of you pretty much my whole life little one...so feel free to keep pushing my belly out!

Must admit that we're a bit nervous for your arrival...  It doesn't feel real that we will be PARENTS.  Hoping and praying that God will lead us to raise you as best we can and within His will.

This weekend you'll be taking your first vacation with us!  Though, sorry, you won't be able to see much...  We'll be leaving the 40 degree weather and heading to tropical paradise for 80 degree weather!  I've read that you may be able to detect more light now, so maybe you'll see some sun rays shining through my belly!  Your dad and I love you to the moon and back guapo.

Here's a picture of your babysitter!  ;)
