20 Weeks

We are halfway to meeting you, little one!! I cannot believe you have already been growing for this long.  You are now around 10.5 ounces and 6.5 inches from head to heel, about the size of a banana!  You are swallowing amniotic fluid now (which sounds not good but apparently it is!) and producing meconium in your digestive system.

I have been feeling mostly just good, not too much different.  Particularly today I felt some more flutters!  I stopped at one point (after eating) and tried to be completely still and silent, wanting so badly to feel you moving.  I remembered reading that pushing on my stomach would probably make you move around...  So, I thought...why not see if I could make you move?  I pressed on one part of my stomach and then...YOU KICKED ME BACK!!!!!!  It made me jump!!  And then I just started laughing.  I called your dad immediately and told him that his child just kicked me. ;) We were both so excited! You little sassafras, kicking me for touching you!

I have definitely gained some serious weight now. I got some maternity shirts because mine are getting too short. The maternity ones are still a bit big, but I'm sure I will grow into them soon!  I feel like I look bigger in pictures than I do when I look in the mirror. Looking at pictures of myself always surprises me. But that's okay! Trying to eat fairly healthy, though my sweet tooth tends to get to me.
Looking forward to our upcoming ultrasound appointment to see you!
